Start the morning off with breakfast at the art-deco Savoy Hotel - a fitting way to start an Australia Day Celebration, with the building having hosted a hotel since Charles Alexander opened Australia's first hotel with en-suites and climate-controlled rooms in 1866.

After a leisurely breakfast, you will be escorted to Southern Cross Station to board the Winelander and the first-class carriages that will transport you from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne to the multi-award-winning Geelong Wine Region.

After venturing through the busy freight yards that surround Melbourne's rail gateway, watch through your panoramic window as the density of Melbourne fades into the wide open spaces of Regional Victoria.

Arriving at the siding of Inverleigh, Platinum Class guests detrain to board coaches to commence the day's Off-Train Experience, visiting the best food and wine of the region. Transfer first to the much-acclaimed Clyde Park Winery, where a gourmet lunch will be served.

After enjoying lunch, rejoin the coaches to visit another of the region's acclaimed wineries before returning to Inverleigh.

Upon arrival back in Inverleigh, enjoy a drink and join the Australia Day Celebration, including live music and more, at the famous historic Inverleigh Hotel.

Late afternoon, re-board the Winelander for a relaxing journey back to Melbourne to conclude your Australia Day Slow Rail Journey.
